A SOMATIC HEALING THERAPY 
 

Soma means of the body,   Somatic therapies maintain that our body holds and expresses experiences and emotions, and traumatic events or unresolved emotional issues can become 'trapped' inside.

Anxiety, for example, can lead to muscle tension, particularly in the neck, shoulders, jaw, and back cuasing discomfort, pain, stiffness affecting daily life. If we're experiencing chronic anxiety or distress, like constantly having our foot on a gas pedal.  We are not relaxed and it takes a toll on the body, and consequently nervous system and our general wellbeing.

BodyTalk uses somatic techniques and goes beyond addressing not only the body but also deeper consciousness issues that influence overall well-being. This holistic approach integrates energetic principles, including chakras, meridians - the energetic physiology, to support the body in releasing painful emotions and restoring balance.

In my practice, I take this a step further by incorporating my knowledge of various embodiment techniques that help individuals reconnect with their bodies.

 

There are many effective methods to cultivate inner peace, as the mind often generates excessive stress—what Mindfulness refers to as the “Monkey Mind,” constantly active and restless. Body-conscious therapies offer a path to grounding, using breath and bodily awareness to foster a sense of calm and presence.

For individuals who have experienced trauma, this process is particularly valuable. It facilitates the release of trapped emotions and cellular memories, allowing the body to reclaim the peace it may have lost—or, in cases of chronic trauma, never fully experienced.
